I was wondering if anyone could give me some more information or place a value on any of these posters. One of them is an original "My Salomy Lions" theatre poster. I'm hoping to get pics up soon. It has numerous lions on the top, Fatty Arbuckle & Charley Chaplin on either side of a woman towards the bottom, and the very bottom reads: MY SALOMY LIONS SHTOP #24314

Another from the collection is "The World And His Wife" also an original movie theatre poster with similar markings on the bottom of the poster 3OHT (or QHT, ONT, etc...) TOP 2365 .A.

Also an original movie theatre poster, "The Unseen Menace". Jack Dempsey in Daredevil Jacks Episode 12 The Unseen Menace Produced by Robert Brunton. It says A. Pathe Serial at the top of the poster with two men side-by-side on the left and a woman on the right in a dress with a fathered hat.

There are more, but I'm going to start with these and if anyone could help me with more information on these or a possile value or even if you are interested in purchasing these let me know.

At least two of these sound like incomplete 3 sheets or 6 sheets. It would be best if you posted images.

Your one poster, MY SALOMY LIONS does not show images of Chaplin or Arbuckle. The film starred Merta Sterling and Billy Engle, 2 of whom are shown on your poster. It was made in 1920 by Century Film.

THE WORLD AND HIS WIFE
was also made in 1920, by Cosmopolitan Prod. It starred Montagu Love and Alma Rubens.

DAREDEVIL JACK: Episode 12-THE UNSEEN MENACE was also made in 1920, as a 12 part serial. Directed by WS Van Dyke.

The bottom pic, of THE JAZZY JANITOR made in 1920, made by the United States Moving Picture Company (as Rainbow Comedies).

Are your posters complete? Based on the numbers and lettering you gave, the first 2 sound like top partials of 3 sheets.
The DAREDEVIL JACK sounds like a one sheet.

What are the poster sizes?

Jeff

Hi there,

The first 2 titles are incomplete 3 sheets; sounds like the bottom sections which would contain the title, director, actor;s names etc are missing. Daredevil Jack is a one sheet but normally one sheets from back then were 27x41. Hard to know what this is for sure without seeing what is printed on the bottom border area, where all the printer's info should be.

The Jazzy Janitor-- the size is not right for a one sheet from that period. It's too small. But there could have been anomalies from that earlier period. Again, without seeing the whole poster and fine print, it's hard to say. Can you post a complete image of this poster?

Best.

Jeff
