Hi !

I collect large and small poster from France and I sell some too. There are two sizes 15X21 inches and 45X63 inches (4'X5'). The small ones (mini) are folded on the middle. The 4'X5' large one are usually mecanically folded.

I am located in Canada. I can get French poster from France. Just send me an email with the title you are looking for and the size and I will let you know if it is available. Recent movies are available and some older ones. Feel free to ask me.

For your info, in the province of Qu?bec, French posters of French film when they are released here are usually different from the French version issued in France. The format used here in Canada is the same as the US : 27"X40" or smaller.

Also, American movies have their own French version poster in Qu?bec. Sometimes, the design is different from the US version of the poster and sometimes, it is the same to the US version. On thing is sure, the French Qu?bec version is usually different from the France version. Also, the title of the movie is different from France and the format of the poster in Qu?bec is the same for North America : 27"X40".

If you are looking for French version poster, again feel free to send me the title as well. You can look me up on Ebay under cinema66.

Hi Cinema66,

You are forgetting to mention the french Moyenne size poster which measures 24" x 33". I also LOVE the large grande panel size. I think they are beautiful and the artwork is, many times, unrivaled. Although i prefer to collect posters from the mid 1940's and earlier. I have had a couple backed and the room to display is also tricky, due to their size.

Anyone here collect large French posters? Any info about them? Do you collect newer or older ones? Are even newer large french posters folded okay to collect? Are pin holes acceptable?

Hey Mafia,

What years or decades do you like to collect from. I like the older posters, personally. The french grandes are truly amazing.

As far as price goes I've had some pretty good luck with one of the forum sponsors named Alexis at French Movie Posters. He has a lot of new material for relatively inexpensive.

I agree, they are great posters to have. I collect whatever I like. So it really depends.

Here's a question for you guys. How do you frame the Large French posters?

Since they're folded (no fighting with the curl) they're easy to display just using magnets. I used the cheapest route possible and installed a magnetic strip on the wall of my movie room. Place the magnets on the two corners and there you go. It works great but I'd sure as heck not let any kids or pets in the room when they're hanging. I've been there and cried over that :( so be careful of who goes in the room when they're on display

Ya, I prefer the poster to have some protection such as a frame. I had some posters that I used those poster hanger clips for, and somehow over time, the poster eventually was torn around the clips on the edge.

Has anyone here framed a Large French poster?

When I win the lottery, I'll frame my "Le Prestige" (Grande Affiche size). For now, it'll stay taped to the wall!
