Yup
The "LAMP shades" are drawn (hopefully very temporarily). We had the same sort of problems until we finally broke down and went for the really expensive server. The promise of "99.9% uptime" all web hosts make is a bigger lie than "the check is in the mail"!
Here's hoping the LAMP gets turned back on real soon.

Hi All,
I'm sorry that we're down right now...
For the past 2 years, we've been with CIHost out of Texas. well, suddenly without warning a couple of months ago, the SOLD our account to some new people. We are an old windows site and the new people are Linux (which is NOT that compatable)... They crashed our site 3 times and for the past 2 months have been giving us fits... We've tried to be patient, but they did it again Friday... and that was enough...
I'm in the process of moving the site to a more reliable host.... but this new hosting company X7 has really messed up our files trying to force them into the Linux setup...that I'm having to re-upload the majority of LAMP from the backups on MY computer.... It's an enormous task but I have the majority of the articles already uploaded. The ftp is telling me that I have 3 DAYS worth of uploading just for the images in the database.
One good thing... I found 2 sections that I wrote a couple of years ago that I forgot about that isn't online. One is a pretty good size section on Animation that I'll try to get online real quick.
Hopefully, it will start coming back online in the next day or so...
Again, thanks

p.s. If anyone emailed us during this time, I'm sorry but we just got the new email system hooked up through the new host. Please send the email again.

Thanks Terry and Tom..
We're BACK!!
We feel like we've been through a Clive Barker movie!!
It seems that we've outgrown the regular hosting companies and had to move to our own server. The bad thing is that if I had listened to Rich, I could have avoided a couple of weeks of the nightmare..
Anyway, everything came back online today on our new server and we're ready to clean up some and start expanding some more.
Our new 2009 Production Code book is now out and we have another new reference book coming out the end of this month. The NSS Trailer Log.
Thanks for all the emails and support
