Hello everyone,
I know it has been a long time since I posted her on the forum. But, I am glad to be back.
I have a couple of ALL BLACK CAST posters dated for mid 30's and 40's. Now, being that the paper is very, very fragile and brittle, should a linenbacking job be the last option? I hear people here saying, that they prefer to leave the poster be. But, as I touch this one poster I have, The foldline now has already came apart.


What you guys think? I do not want to hurt the value or appearance in anyway.

Hi Darrick,
Sounds like it may be time to put them on linen..
I don't see it hurting the value and i'm sure you will be happy with the appearence.
When posters are in need of linen, I don't think most collectors would argue with that.
It's when they are in good to excellent condition that a lot of collectors wouldn't see the need for restoration.

Until you have them done I wouldn't handle the posters if possible.If it's folded,everytime you unfold it paper fibers are being broken,resulting in seperation.
