Well, from my experience there are three types of posters you need to worry about:

1. Commercial reprints -- I'm not sure if these were originally printed with the intention of deceiving or not... they are typically the correct size, but printer info is written in English (Printed in Belgium) instead of French (Imprime en Belgique).

2. Later re-releases -- Original releases will almost always say the US studio name at the top (Warner Brothers presente, etc...). However, many titles were re-released with local distributors.

3. Fakes -- These were less common, but appear to be getting more so due to the small size and great artwork. I have gotten several bootlegs at this point. All had the correct printer and studio information, but quality has varied tremendously. I got a "Blow-Up" fake that looked like it was printed on an inkjet printer. But I also got the above mentioned Two-Faced Woman and if it wasn't for the paper I never would have caught it... the printing was VERY good.

My originals have all come on very thin, but fairly strong glossy paper. It almost feels a touch like wax paper to me. Anyway, the fakes I've gotten are usually (but not always) on thicker paper... almost bordering on card stock.

Buyer beware.

I just bought a lot of ten belgium posters from i guess the same e-bay seller mentioned on this forum. They were very cheap and i guessed that they would be re-release posters...im yet to recieve them but hope that they are not commercial reprints or fakes...The movies are too old for these to be original release...and i was concious of the smaller size....i just love the art work, and could see the smaller size as easy to frame and hang.
they appear to have some age from the photos...they were so cheap i really havnt lost much no matter what they really are.
And again such great illustrations and artwork!!....
i remember thinking... theres no way these are original release posters... but i could just see a couple of them in frames on my wall....i think these are mailnly re-released posters through local distributers as they have the distributers name presents above the title as mentioned above. Thanks for the info.
will post again after i recieve them

Recieved posters a while ago...but most were damaged in transit.Ive had them laying flat and they look a lot better now.
Just cant believe someone who sells posters internationally would simply roll them and stick them straight in a tube with no
plastic bag or padding at the ends of the tube.Great posters, but when you see them damaged in transit due to woefully inadequate packaging it can be really dissapointing.
