Hi There,

I dont know if any of you collect the Dave Mattheews Band limited edition posters sold at every show, but i was wondering the best way to store them. I was gonna get those white boards and bags, but i'm new to the whole "Acid or non-acid" Thing. They are 18x24. Also, i forgot where to buy those white boards and bags. Can anyone please help me out with this? By the way, the posters aren't on regular poster paper, it's like thick matting paper.

the best way is to store them in a flat file cabinet. Check craigslist, you can usually find one for a decent price.

As for the bags - go to www.bagsunlimited.com I store a majority of my movie posters and art prints in 4mm polyethylene bags inside my flat file cabinets. Mylar bags are the way to go if you can afford them.

Shouldn't i put them on a white backing, and then put it in a sleeve?

You don't need to have acid boards to store them. They are used mostly for framing. You can store the posters in sleeves flat or rolled.

I know the boards are a more expensive way, but i really wanted to use them, i think they look the nicest that way, with a sleeve over it. I deffinetly want them flat so i can look at them and show people. I would love to frame these, but i'm trying to collect every show i go to, (which is A LOT) and wouldn't have enough room to hang all of them up, that's why i was going to go this route. Is there any store that sells the boards and sleeves? Or do i have to buy these online.

The boards really just take up a lot of space and even in a large flat file you can only fit so many sheets of foam core in each drawer... Since youre wanting to handle them and show them off Id say get a portfolio .. They can be found easy enough up to 24x36 and you could maybe fit 2 per page that way .. It will most likely be more expensive than baggin them but I think it suits your needs better.
