Hi there,
Relatively new to posters though I always buy a few when I travel in Asia.
Interested primarily in silent era posters, japanese sexploitation and shambara posters, and hong-kong 70s and 80s action posters.
It's a jungle outhere with lots of fakes and I hope I can get a few clues from you expert collectors.
Best,
lord

Hello everyone.
Totally new collector, but long time collector of many things, with a severe 'collector gene'...
I had a feeling the movie poster thing would really catch hard when I started and brother, it has.
So far, just focusing on movies I've enjoyed watching through out my life without any particular genere or topical interest, although I guess "80's Films" would probably be the center of my interest.
First movie poster I ever bought (recently) was for use as home decor and a movie I loved- Family Jewels with Jerry Lewis. Once it arrived, I unfolded it and held it in my hands, it was all over... I knew I'd want posters from every movie I loved
Anyway, that's me. My primary inquiry around here will be learning about authentication.

Hello ..
I am a movie historian, teaching and writing about the history of film, and propaganda. I am a modest collector of movie posters, concentrating on classic films of the 1940s and 50s ... As an example of my interests, I recently acquired a beautiful original one-sheet of VIVA ZAPATA. I am particularly interested in "Cold War" films ... those that show the "Communist menace" during the 1950s...

Hi there
Start my first poster collection (an officer & a gentleman) 10 years ago but on and off for a while. No preference to movie type or years, as long as I like that movie or the composition of the posters. But I do like the posters designed by Drew Struzan, so I pay more attention on related posters, such Star Wars and Indiana Jonse. Anyway, glad to join this forum and nice to know everyone

Movie Poster Guides and Resources
The price guide is maintained by Jon R. Warren, whose Movie Poster Price Guide books have been helping movie poster collectors since 1985.
The searchable database consists of tens of thousands of detailed reports on movie posters for most movies distributed in the United States since 1900.
Each report includes current market values in ten different grades, as well as a section for "Real Market Data", actual prices fetched at auction.
