I'm fairly new to buying movie posters, but just recently I became interested in a few of them. I was looking for the Predator(1987) movie poster on ebay and of course I've researched that many sellers claim originals when they're really reproductions. Are there any shops you guys frequently use for "non-rare" posters that are reputable? On ebay I had found a few that were folded like they did in the mid 80's but were charging $200+, as well as a few that were claiming originals but charging around $50... is there a pricing guide online that I could refer to? Also, if I were to purposely buy reproduction posters are there any specific shops you use as well? Thanks for any help!

You'll find 674,242 verified results and 574,026 images (not only the most results anywhere, but the only place on the Internet where you will find ONLY prices that were actually paid, because on the tiny percentage where we were never able to collect, or the items were returned, we drop those results out, and we are the only ones who do this) at
http://www.emoviepos...ry/archive.html
In your example, go to the above and type in Predator. Be sure to click "Title Only" and then "Search"
You get the 200 posters we sold from with this word in the title. Now you can refine this to just Predator posters by clcking on the little horn shaped icon after each entry, which refines the search to just posters from Predator exactly. You can just see one-sheets by clicking on the "1sh" under any one-sheet shown, and now you have the 55 one-sheets we have auctioned from this movie over the years at http://www.emoviepos...sh/archive.html
Putting them in high to low price order I see they have sold for between $7.50 and $100, and putting them in Date Sold order (newest first) I see that we sold 17 of these since January 2011, so it is certainly not a very rare poster, and the price for "very good" or better examples (and our grading is far harsher than any other seller) is mostly around $20 to $40 (there are international and advance styles mixed in, but you could filter to just the type you want).
So if you want this poster, go to our site, sign up and create a "Want List" search for this title and you will be notified when we next aucion it!

Can't really go wrong with Bruce. No way should you be paying up to $200. It is not a rare poster.

Yeah, I completely agree!
I actually acknowledge Bruce personally HERE.
I sold an original version of the Predator poster for £40.00, so $200.00 is over-priced in my opinion.

You should sign up for Bruce's email newsletter. You can't go wrong dealing with him. Excellent customer service, very professional. Pleasant to deal with in every way.
Sorry for the shameless plug, but my brother Peter Contarino and his partners have just launched Movie Poster Exchange. You should check it out. He is a LAMP dealer and, like Bruce, as honest and upstanding as anyone.
Ebay is full of thieves. Everyone swears their posters are real. It's a terrible problem in this industry. hope this helps
