Anyone read Japanese? This is supposedly a poster from the 1940's... I thought I would check with the resident experts here.

I think the first two characters say beautiful person (or beautiful woman in context). It's hard to make out the rest.

I was wondering; are B2's still worth collecting or do people favour B1's? I was considering buying some B2's in hope to make a little profit.

As Callahan wrote, the first two characters mean beautiful ('reigin') and the second two 'Kohama' which is the lady's name, so, it says 'Beautiful Kohama'

Thanks for the help all. Unfortunately, the poster isn't for sale anymore :( I do have a line on a few more unknown posters though...

Anyone care to help? Titles, age, approximate values, etc....? Thanks!

Second one is called TAIKOKI.
The third one is SHINSHO SHINOBI NO MONO.

Could not decipher the title on the first one. Need my kanji book for that (am at work at the moment).

Value: The third one might be of moderate value (I am guessing less than 200 US$) to collectors in Japan. It's a part of a series of ninja movies (shinobi is another word for ninja) and features a fomerly popular actor called Raizo Ichikawa who died in the late 60's while he was still quite young. Outside of Japan I don't think it is worth much, as there are not many collectors of posters for chambarra (swordfighting) movies.

Thanks for your help Armin. I figured they were older (pre-70's at least) based on the composition and fonts and such, but that was about all I knew. I think the seller wants $125 for all three so I'll probably pass unless the first one turns out to be particularly valuable. They are great posters, but I'm trying to scale back purchases to stuff that I have some sort of connection with... or posters I can get a ridiculous deal on!
