I live in Japan, and they are not cheap, but usually cheaper than you can get them elsewhere.

So, who's up? Who collects Japanese posters? Who wants them? Who has links to interesting collections of Japanese paper or sites devoted even in part to collecting Japanese paper.

I'm hoping to spark some conversation here. If it works, then I'll throw out some other areas too.

Hi

I am new to this web forum. My main areas of collecting foreign movie posters (in addition to my collection of US 1 sheets and UK Quads) are , Polish, Czech and JAPANESE!! I have about 100 posters from 60s-early 90s, mostly B2 (which I prefer as they are easier to frame. SO Hey, you can add me to the list. I have posted here a few of my personal favorites for your enjoyment. You may know that I get many of my Japanese posters from Emovieposter - they are a good source and you can get some bargains (cheaper than sometimes 'thebeatlesforsale" e--y shop) but they can also be quite expensive for the more sought after items. I paid very high prices for my I am Curious Yellow posters but as I collect cult movies and often for films which I have in my video collection, it was jsut about worth it to me to own some of my fave movies.

anyway, I'd apreciate any comments.

Very nice posters Jonkino! Glad to see other Japanese collectors. Tatekan's are my favorite format. I enjoy B1's and B0's as well. But I do have several B2's.

Yeah, B2's are the common poster size in Japan. They are like the One Sheet in the US. There are a lot more B2's than most of the other sizes. B1's are larger and closer to the US one sheet size. B0's are much bigger than the B1 and are generally pretty rare. Tatekan's are also known as STB's or standing billboards. They are usually for older posters like 70's and earlier.

Posters that are the size of two B1 are technically B0, but they are not called B0's in Japan. They are either called two-sheets (tu shiito) or king size (kingu saisu).

If you are interested in more Japanese posters and also general information on them, you can check out my website www.posteroid.com

Plus I have a few videos on Japanese posters on youtube, here are two or them:
